Katie Schmieg

I feel blessed to be part of the St.Lawrence community as a first year teacher. I received my bachelor degree from The Ohio State University and have been working in the business world for the past 17 years. Recently, I decided to pursue my passion for education and received a Masters of Arts in Teaching from The Mount St. Joseph University.

I was born and raised on the Westside, graduated from Seton High School, and my husband and I are now raising our family here. Our children are 12, 10, 8 and 6 and attend a local archdiocesan school where I spend time volunteering as a coach and festival coordinator. In my free time, I enjoy reading, volunteering and traveling, especially in our family’s camper. The sense of community and parental involvement in our local Catholic schools is unique, inspiring, and most importantly provides positive outcomes for students – I couldn’t imagine working or sending my children anywhere else. I am excited to work with our 5th and 6th grade students this year!
